Water-induced disaster risks reduction & management

Nepal is constantly facing the problems of natural disasters due to its geophysical structure, variable climatic conditions, and tectonic processes, unplanned development activities and increasing population. Earthquake, glacier lake outburst floods, landslides, riverbed rising, stream bank erosion and floods, and drought have become the common phenomena in Nepal.

Conservation Nepal’s one of the major aims is to reduce harmful impacts of water-induced disasters through proper management in active participation of local communities and close coordination with the concerned stakeholders.
